Micah J. Richie, GISP
Vice President of Business Development & Marketing

Micah Richie joined MPH in 1997 and currently serves as Vice President of Business Development and Marketing. As VP of Business Development and Marketing, he is responsible for the development and implementation of business plans, as well as designing and implementing processes to support business growth through customer and market definition. He works closely with MPH’s existing clients to ensure that their expectations are being met.
Mr. Richie began his career at MPH as the Information Technology (IT) Manager where he was responsible for the development of MPH’s network infrastructure and implementing new technologies. In 2000, Mr. Richie created MPH’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department and served as Vice President of Geographic Information Systems until 2017.
He has managed GIS Projects for large pipeline companies such as Enterprise Products, Chevron Pipeline, and LOOP, LLC. In 2004, Mr. Richie was Project Manager for the Enterprise Products HCA/Class Location Study for the Acadian Pipeline System. The project included field data collection and HCA Analysis for 1200 miles of gas pipelines in Louisiana. He has also managed similar projects for Chevron Pipeline in Louisiana, Texas, Colorado, Utah, and California. He and his staff were instrumental in the development of LOOP, LLC’s GIS System. He works daily with other MPH Departments to provide GIS analysis. He has worked with the MPH Environmental Department on various wetland monitoring projects providing desktop analysis to determine wetland impacts.
He and his staff have also developed GIS systems for government agencies such as the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, the Houma-Terrebonne Airport Commission, and various Parishes throughout the state of Louisiana. In 2016, he managed the development of an enterprise GIS system for the City of Mont Belvieu, Texas.
In 2003, Mr. Richie was authorized by Environment Systems Research Institute (ESRI) to teach ESRI courses and has taught several classes at MPH, various client sites, and Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. In 2007, Mr. Richie and the MPH GIS team were selected as the ESRI Foundation Partner of the Year for the San Antonio Region. He is a member of the Geospatial Information Technology Association (GITA), the Pipeline Open Data Standard Organization (PODS), and served on the Steering Committee for PUG (Petroleum User Group). Mr. Richie attended Nicholls State University majoring in Computer Science. He earned a Certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Penn State University. He is also a Certified GIS Professional (GISP).
Mr. Richie’s enjoys his community related involvement. In 2011 he served on the Terrebonne Parish Comprehensive Master Plan Steering Committee lending his GIS expertise to the project. He also served as the President of the FNS All Star Classic which is an annual high school all-star baseball game that gives local high school baseball players a venue to showcase their talents. He was also a member of the Terrebonne Parish Sports Complex committee. He has coached numerous youth sports teams and served as a board member of the South Terrebonne High School Athletic Booster Club.
