For Morris P. Hebert, Inc. (MPH), 2017 was a great year and most importantly, a safe year. MPH completed 2017 having recorded in excess of 2.8 million exposure-hours without experiencing a lost time injury case or recordable case while also maintaining our total recordable incident rate below industry average with a three-year average of 0.0. In May, MPH was recognized by the Industrial Safety Training Council (ISTC) with the following safety achievement awards:
- working 7 years without an OSHA lost workday case
- completing 1-million hours without a recordable incident
- Sustainable Safety Performance for working in excess of 3-years without an OSHA recordable incident.
MPH was recognized once again as a recipient of OSHA’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP). MPH was first recognized as a SHARP participant in 2005, making it 13 consecutive years that we have received this recognition. For more information regarding SHARP visit their website at https://www.osha.gov/dcsp/smallbusiness/sharp.html.
For several years, MPH was operating in Odessa, TX, but in 2017 MPH completed construction and moved into our new office in Midland, TX. Located at 3205 WCR 132 in Midland, our office is fully staffed with Registered Professional Land Surveyors, CADD Technicians, and fully equipped survey crews. We also provide Engineering, Environmental, and GIS services support to our Midland operations from our Houston, TX office.
MPH also broke ground on our new Corporate Headquarters in 2017. Our continued growth over the years required us to seek more office space. Our new office will feature 22,560 sq. ft. of office space with a new IT Center, state of the art conference and huddle rooms, along with a training & employee development facility. The new office building will put all Houma departments under one roof. The site will also feature 7 additional buildings for enclosed storage of our vehicles and vessels, equipment storage, as well as dedicated maintenance shops. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
This past year also had its challenges. MPH had to deal with several hurricane events during 2017, including the devastating Hurricane Harvey which server impacted the Texas Gulf Coast. MPH and its employees were spared any significant damage, but many of our clients, colleagues, and friends suffered losses. MPH responded in typical form through donations to the relief efforts. Professionally, MPH was able to respond quickly to our client’s needs to provide services to get their pipelines and facilities operational.
In 2017, MPH was very active in the community. The MPH Relay for Life team raised over $15,000 dollars for the American Cancer Society through various events and fundraisers. MPH participated in several fund-raising events throughout the year that raised money for both the Houston & Louisiana Pipeliners Scholarship Funds. MPH also participated in several career day events on various college campuses.
We want to thank all of all loyal clients and employees for making 2017 such a successful year! We are looking forward to working alongside you and continued success in this upcoming year.
